International Reggae Day II. Bob Marley.

Hello everyone,

A lot of people sang "Redemption song" by Bob Marley after George Floyd's death in  USA.
Listen to the song:

How many irregular verbs can you find in the past tense?
What do you think about "Old pirates, yes, they rob I, sold I to the merchants ships".
Who were the old pirates? Why did they sell him? Investigate about this fact and debate it.

Now listen to Marley's son, Stephen Marley" singing this song.

Schools, homes and other places are the right place where children must start consolidating these values: Peace, Equality, Justice, frredom, Coexistence in diversity, Friendship and Solidarity.

David Beckam: Violence can mark children forever.

Hello everyone,
UNICEF has released this new film featuring Goodwill Ambassador David Beckam to illustrate that physical and psychological abuse can mark children forever.
Children should be safe everywhere: home, school, online and in their communities.

Beckham said: “When I launched my 7 Fund with UNICEF, I made a commitment to do everything I can to make the world a safer place for children and to speak out on issues that are having a devastating impact on children’s lives. One of those issues is violence. Every five minutes, somewhere in the world, a child dies from violence. Millions more are in danger of physical, emotional and sexual abuse that could destroy their childhoodsforever.

Last year I visited Cambodia with UNICEF where I met and listened to children tell me about terrible violence they have experienced. I was shocked by what I heard and I saw how violence can leave deep and lasting scars. No child should have to endure this. Yet in all corners of the world, in their homes, schools and on their streets, children are suffering similar violence. I hope this new project will draw attention to this urgent issue and inspire action. Violence against children is wrong and together we need to end it.”

England V France: something else than a football match.

Hi everyone,
England host France tonight in a friendly game in London. Wembley stadium prepares an emotional show of solidarity after the terrorist atrocities in Paris. 129 people died and a lot of were injured. French President Francois Hollande said yesterday that victims were of 19 different nationalities.
Last Friday England fans started a campaign to sing the French National anthem before the kick-off.
There will also be a minute's silence and floral tribute for the victims.

The captain of England, Wayne Roonie, said:"On behalf of the players, we'd like to give our condolences. Sad times, a lot of people losing their lives. I spoke to my club team-mates after it happened and it's hard for everyone, including for ourselves, and we have to be as respectful as we can and obviously there is a football match."

This is our tribute for all the victims, the song "All you need is love" which starts with the intro to the French national anthem "La Marseillaise".

"I'm just kind of emotional about this day because he just worked so hard," Pratt said. "He started working at this early, when he was 9 years old. To see it all come together for him, I'm just excited for him.

Jackline Kiplimo: Winning is not everything. Taiwan Marathon.

Hello everybody,
Do you know Jackeline Kiplimo? She was born in 1984 in Kenya. She started athletics when she was in primary school. She normally runs half marathons and marathon races. Her husband is also an athlete and he is Jackeline's coach and manager.

This story happened in China on March 28, 2010. Jackeline saw a Chinese man calling upon his countrymen and fellow athletes to give him water.

They just looked at him and passed. Jackeline was at ten kilometre mark and was leading.

The weather was hot and humid and even the most able athletes were getting dehydrated.
"I have never regretted helping the man. To me, he was not a stranger, but someone who needed my help. Said Kiplimo!". She got the second position in the race. Her countryside Emily Samoei won the race.

She started running in 2004 while she was in primary school.
But she used to run a 1,500 metres race. She also took  long distance running in 2007 and She now run 21 and 42 kilometres.
She is married to Fredrick Kiplimo who is also a runner and they have got a child. They train together most of the time.
I have faced many challenges in my running career, but the major one is financial problems.
Her role models are her fellow Kenyan athletes Lydia Jerome, Moses Kiptanui and Sharon Jerop.

Remember: "Winning is not everything".

Kindness boomerang "One day". Stop cyberbullying.

Hello everybody,
Do you believe in kindness boomerang? I do believe.
These days we are listening to sad pieces of news about bullying, cyberbullying and teen depression.

Cyberbullying  can be very difficult to detect as children use technology more and more early. On the one hand, parental supervision becomes crucial, but it's really difficult to control because teenagers use their mobeys at any time and everywhere, and on the other hand schools are yet to understand how to cope with this serious problem.

I want to share this video with you to encourage the spreading of happiness through small acts of kindness.
All of us must combat these intimidations, abuses, threats or physical assaults which are cruel and brutal.

Remember that kindness changes lives. I hope you like this video and the content.

Here you can listen to the song "One day" by Matisyahu and read the lyrics.

I encourage you to know more about the writer and the lyrics.
