Rosa Parks: Civil Rights Movement.

 Hello everyone,

Rosa Parks was born on February 4, 1913, in Alabama, USA.

It's Rosa Parks day and it's celebrated the legacy of civil rights activist Rosa Parks who fought against racism and injustice for decades.

She helped initiate the Civil Rights Movement in USA and showed peace and the need for equality.

Wangari Maathai: Nobel Peace Prize in 2004.

Hello everyone,
January 30th : School Day of Non-Violence and Peace.
Why is it celebrated today? Who founded this day?
Do you know this woman?
What's her name? Where is she from? When was she born? Is she alive or dead? What did she do?


























Her name is Wangari Maathai. She was the first black woman who received the Nobel Peace Prize.
She founded the  Green Belt Movement. She had a fantastic initiative: to plant trees in forested areas in Kenya. She tought there was an important link between the environment and peace.

30th January. School Day of Non-violence and Peace.

Hello everyone,
Today is School Day of Non-Violence and Peace It was founded in 1964 by the Majorcan poet Llorenç Vidal Vidal to promote education for tolerance, solidarity, respect for human rights, non-violence and peace.





















This special day commemorates throughout the world the death of Mahatma Gandhi. He was an Indian pacifist who led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedoms across the world.

This year our character is Malala Yousafzai who is a Pakistani activist for female education.
She lives in Birmingham, UK although she was born in Pakista.

Happy birthday Malala. International Women Day.

Hello everyone,
Malala Yousafzai celebrated her birthday yesterday. She was born in Pakistan,  12 July in 1997. Then she's 18 years old now. Happy birthday Malala.



















This is what she said to BBC yesterday: "I promised to help people". She's a brave girl.



She is a Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate.

Martin Luther King.

Read  this text about Martin Luther King and practice it.

Martin Luther King was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15, 1929. He didn't believe in violence. He worked and studied hard in school.
His goal was to make the world a better place to live. While he was at college, Martin studied about a man named Ghandi. When Dr. King became the pastor, he became active in civil rights. In 1963, over 250,000 people marched in Washington, D.C. where Dr. King gave his most famous speech, "I have a dream".
On the morning of April 4, 1968, he was assassinated. He was just thirty-nine years old.

Peacemaker: Dalai Lama.

Read and learn about one of the most important peacemakers of the world who is still alive.

His name is Tenzin Gyatso.
He was born on 6 July 1935. HE is 78 years old.
He lives in Dhramsala, Nothern India where He escaped into exile after Chinese invaded Tibet.

He is a religious buddhist leader and Tibet’s political reader.
He started his monastic education when he was 6.
He studied medicine,monastic discipline, metaphysics, philosophy, astrology, poetry, music, drama...
He sat for his final examination in Lhasa’s Jokhang Temple, during the annual Monlam (prayer) Festival in 1959, when he was only 23.
He passed with honors and was awarded the Geshe Lharampa degree, the highest-level degree, equivalent to a doctorate of Buddhist philosophy.

He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.
His religion is Buddhism.
