 Hello everyone,

Year 5 students from a school in Nottingham (do you remember the tale Robin Hood who was a highly skilled archer and the luckless Sheriff of Nottingham?) celebrated that hey were recognised as the funniest class by the Beano Comic.

Children from Class Indigo 1 at Greasley Beauvale Primary School in Eastwood won the Beano's annual Britain's Funniest Class competition. They sent a joke about Maths. Do you want to know it?

The winning joke: "What happened to the maths teacher's garden? It grew square roots".

It's true: "Kids are our inspiration every single day!!

The Heritage of Quin and Han Dynasties, China. XI'AN WARIORS: La TIZA. MARQ MUSEUM and Santa Bárbara Castle.

 Hello everyone,

The report published by the province newspaper Diario Información, in its school supplement La TIZA, covers our school trip.

Year 5 students visited MARQ museum, L'Ereta Park and Santa Bárbara castle in Alicante last Wednesday.

Students loved the international exhibition "The Heritage of Quin and Han Dinasties, China. XI'AN WARIORS" which shows us the fascinating world of Imperial China.

The Quin Dynasty was the first dynasty, lasting from 221 to 206 B.C, and it was founded by Quin Shi Huang. He was the first emperor Quin.

When the first emperor died in 210 B.C. Liu Bang founded the Han dynasty which ruled China from 202 B. C. to 220 C.E.

The 3rd May 1808 in Madrid or "The executions"

Hello everyone,

Last summer I visited an exbition called "Valencians en guerra. 1808 - 1814" in Alicante.

Look at this map and check if French troops occupied the village or town where you live now.

Exposició AHPA PICS

Didactic Unit Secondary

Now look at these paintings by the Spanish artist Francisco José de Goya

Do you know them?

When do you think he painted them.

And why? Loot at the men's faces?

Now let's visit the pictures in the Prado Museum webpage.

"The 2nd of May 1808 in Madrid" or "The fight against the mamulekes"

"The 3rd of May 1808 in Madrid" or "The Executions of the mountain of Príncipe Pío"

Who was Príncipe Pío? When was he born?

Where did he live? What was his job? How did he die?

 Look at these pictures.

Do you know who lived here?

That's right, Príncipe Pío's daughter, Isabel María Pío de Saboya y Spinola and her second husband, Antonio Valcárcel y Pérez Pastor.

Why did they come from Madrid to Alicante?
