Last month we celebrated School Day of Non-Violence and Peace and we learnt the story of Sadako Sasaki. We also leant that the name of the plane which dropped the atomic bomb in Hiroshima on the 6 August 1945 was "Enola Gay. The bomb killed more than 100,000 citizens.
"Enola Gay" is also a very famous anti-war song by the British band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, OMD. Do you know why the plane had that name?
The pilot, Paul Tibbets because her mum was called Enola Gay Tibbets. Her mum got this name due to the heoine of the novel Enola;or, her fatal mistake.
