The power of music.

Hello everybody,
Do you believe in the power of music? Then you shouldn't miss this video.
Adrián Martín is a boy from Vélez-Málaga, Spain. He is only 9 years old, he loves singing and his favourite type of music is flamenco (I must say that I love that music).

Flamenco is comprised of three parts: the song, the dance and the guitar. Moreover, you must add passion, feelings and rythm. In other words, "It's a hard nut to crack", as Paco de Lucía said.

He won the TV talent show "Mamá, quiero ser artista" and I am really excited after listening to him.
He sings with his sister a beautiful song by Rosario Flores called ¡Qué bonito!

Congratulations, Adrian and family. Your voice and your feeling are incomparable.


Adrián is a clear example of improvement.
He has demonstrated that he has got these characteristics well developed:
- Sociability: Form healthy relationships.                          
Insightfulness: Understand people and situations.
- Optimism: View self and the future positively.                            
- Competence: Are "good" at something, and are aware of own skills.
- Flexibility: Accept that change is a part of living.                            
- Perseverance: Continue despite difficulty, doesn't give up.
- Self- confidence: Move toward goals. Bases decisions/choices on own instincts and confidence in own abilities.                 
- Perspective: Try to see even difficult situations in perspective. Views crises as challenges to be faced, rather than insurmountable obstacles.
- Self control: Manage strong feelings and impulses.

Thanksgiving Day or Turkey Day.

Hello everybody,
Thanksgiving Day is celebrated in the United States today and it's traditionally a day for families and friends to get together for a special meal.

It's a time for many people to give thanks for what they have. Some people have a four-day weekend so they visit family and friends.

It is always celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November and it precedes Black Friday, often regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.

Thanksgiving is also celebrated in Canada but on the second Monday in October.

Gabriela Andersen won her personal battle.

The 1984 women’s Olympic marathon was historic because it was the first time the event was included at the Games.
Up to that point 1,500 metres  was considered the upper limit of ladylike Olympic competition.
The race was won by Joan Benoit, in a remarkable time of 2:24:52. However, there was a notorious fact for the 70,000-plus spectators who cheered on the marathon runner Gabriela Andersen-Schiess during the  400 metres of agony she had to walk.
She was an incredible 37th, in a time of two hours, 48 minutes and 42 seconds.
"I guess I just kept walking by instinct," she said. "It was a little bit of willpower or something. Your mind tries to dominate over your tired body. Your body may be screaming, 'No!', but your mind says, 'Well, yes, but it's so close.'"

Berlin Wall fall: 25th anniversary.

Hello everybody,
Today is 9 November. Berlin is commemorating the 25th anniversary of the  fall of the Berlin wall.
That day marked the beginning of the  end of the Cold War 25 years ago.
Berlin wall existed between 1961 and 1989. A lot of people died because they wanted to cross into West Germany.
Germans celebrate Sunday anniversary services, performances and concerts. Berlin State Opera Orchestra have played Beethoven's Oda to joy from his symphony No. 9.
Thousand of people have gathered in front of Bradenburgh gate, which is a symbol of the united Germany now and 8,000 symbolic illuminated balloons have divided the city again.

It was one of the most important moments in History.



Peter Gabriel has sung David Bowie's song "Heroes" at the ceremony in Berlin.

Bonfire night. Celebration and Food.

Hello everyone,
Do you know bonfire night? It's celebrated 5th November.
 




Here you can find some of the traditional food on BONFIRE NIGHT WHICH INCLUDES:

- Cooking potatoes wrapped in foil in the bonfire.
- Soup to keep people warm as they watch the fireworks.
- A sticky cake made from oatmeal, ginger and syrup called Parkin Cake.
- Sausages and marshmallows roasted on the bonfires.
- Roasted chestnuts.
- Toffee apple.
