Gino Bartali: The cyclist who saved Jews in wartime in Italy.

Hello everyone,
Do you know this man?


His name was Gino Bartali and he was born in Florence in 1914.
He became a professional cyclist in 1935. Gino was a three-time winner of the Giro d'Italia and two-time winner of The Tour The France.
His great rival was Fausto Coppi, who also won the Giro and Tour.
He never talked about his activities during wartime but
he risked his own life to save the lives of strangers. He helped Jews who were persecuted by Nazis.
