I live in a small village called Sant Joan d'Alcant, in Alicante, Spain and some people eat a kind of paella rice called "Arroz con costra" (rice with crust) the day before Ash Wednesday. It has got beaten egg on the rice. It's a typical dish in the  town of Elx and also in Pego, both in the province of Alicante.
Do you usually eat anything special the day before Ash Wednesday? Have you got any traditions?

Hello everyone,
Yesterday we went to MARQ museum in Alicante to show our school projects about "La colonia de Santa Eulalia". It was great and Year 5 students, Anna F. and Juan Carlos M. show their presentation about the walking and cycle route they have plotted.
We must say that they have applied their digital competence to do it using google slides which allows them to add other collaborators. Great job!



Here we can see Anna and Juan Carlos showing our work at the MARQ museum. It was really interesting and we learnt a lot of things about this amazing place.

Today is International Chilhood Cancer Day.
The famous Spanish singer Fito Cabrales  recorded  this video in a hospital in Barakaldo, Spain, last summer.
He collaborated with "La cuadri del hospi", a nonprofit organization formed by parents whose children suffer or have sufferd this disease, get money for investigation and raise awaraness about childhood cancer.
They also supports children with cancer and their families.
Let's give them a hand this special day watching this clip.
You can also make a donation if you want to contribute childhood cancer research.

We are exchanging food labels with our pen pals. Moreover, we write about our favourite food and when we normally have it. We'll use Spanish for them to learn and we'll also learn new words related to vocabulary using an this online dictionary wordreference . We must understand that ads are usual and sometimes the content they offer it's not appropiate for children. Nothing is free unfortunately.
However, we can collaborate participating in forums which help other people learn languages.
