Timetable: Subjects, days of the week and the time.

 Hi everyone,

Year 4 are learning to create a digital timetable using an offline "writer document".

Then they need to know their school subjetcs and they can also add after-school activities they do.

It's really important for students to manage their time and to organises their skills which need a lot of practise and support from adults.

Students love this activity, but they must take into account some tips for writing school timetables.

These are some of them:

Use CAPITAL LETTERS for the days of the week.

Use CAPITAL LETTERS for languages (e.g. French).

Use CAPITAL LETTERS for abbreviations (e.g ICT).

It's also important to know how the English  language works to talk about routines.

We use phrases with prepositions.

We use AT for the time and ON for the days of the week.

Then we say:

We have English at eleven o'clock on Mondays.

Rock around the world: Metamorphic, Igneous and Sedimentary

 Hello everyone,

There are three main types of rock and all the land is made of the them: metamorphic, igneous and sedimentary.

Did you know that Romans used as projectiles an igneous rock called "andesita", which they brought from Carthage Nova, during the destruction of Ákra Leuké at the end of the 3rd centrury BC, coinciding with the final stages of the Second Punic War between Rome and Carthago.

The devastion of Akrá Leuké is dated to the same time as the campaign of Publios Cornelius Scipio against Quart Hadsht.
