Short forms or contractions

Hi everyone,

Do you use contractions when you speak?

We normally use short forms in informal spoken English because they help speed the dialogue without losing the intended meaning. They are also used them in informal written English

What is a contraction?

It's a shortened form a word.

Do you know how to make them?

You take out letters and sounds and replace them  with and apostrophe.

Look at this chart with full and short forms of the verb to be in the positive/affirmative form.

Examples: I am tall-------I'm tall.

                He is intelligent. He's intelligent.

                We are students. We're students.

Worksheet about this.
