Guy Fawkes Night or Bonfire Night 5th November

November 5th is bonfire night in the U. Bonfire night is also called Guy Fawkes Night.People in the UK celebrate Bonfire Night because of the Gunpowder plot.

On November 5th, 1605, Guy Fawkes and his friends tried to blow up the Houses of the Parliament. Their plan was known as The Gunpowder Plot. They wanted to kill the King James I but they were discovered. They failed and Guy Fawkes and his friends were arrested. They were sentenced to death.

Every year, many people in the UK build bonfires for Bonfire Night. They make life-sized Guy Fawkes dolls, dress them in old clothes, and throw them onto bonfires. There are large fireworks in towns and cities.

Listen to this poem and learn it. Can you recite it in the classroom?

Remember, remember the fifth of November
The gunpowder, treason and plot.

I know no reason why the gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot..

Let's dance the "Skeleton Dance". Happy halloween!!!

Hello everybody,

Halloween is celebrated on October 31 in different ways.
The most popular is with bonfires, costumes of witches, trick or treat, party games.
People usually carry Jack or Lantern to frighten evil spirits.
Most of the children have candy in the USA and they participate in parades.
Halloween origin comes from Gaelic and Welsh culture, Roman celebrations and Christian History.

Why do children trick or treat?
Ask your parents or teachers to find it out.

Have a nice weekend and practice this song.
